NOTIFICATION of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Solicitation for Sites to Host Innovative Technology Evaluations USEPA plans to issue a request for proposals on December 1, 2000, to initiate the fifth solicita- tion for the Superfund innovative Technology Evaluation (SITE) Demonstration Program. The Host Site Solicitation (HSA) is intended to produce proposals from the private sector, local, state, and federal agencies for sites that will be used as testing areas for innovative technologies. This solicitation is directed toward those who have the responsibility for site clean up: EPA Remedial Project Managers and On Scene Coordinators, site managers from local, state and fed- eral agencies, or other site representatives. The demonstration portion of the SITE program performs evaluations of innovative treatment technologies that are ready for full scale demonstration and commercialization. No funds are ex- changed between the EPA and the site representative or technology vendor, but the program will prepare the demonstration plan and provide for personnel and facilities for sampling, analysis, and report writing associated with the technology evaluation. - The strategy of the SITE Program is to conduct thorough on-site evaluations of innovative remediation technologies that show promise of providing more effective remediation of the subject site. Proposals must be no longer than 5 pages and submitted in accordance with the RFR By submitting a proposal in response to the RFR the proposer grants EPA permission to share the proposal with reviewers both within and outside the agency.
