More than 53 million children and 3 million adults spend a significant
portion of their days in approximately 117,000 public and private
K-12 school buildings. Many of these school buildings contain environmental
conditions that may pose health risks to students and staff and inhibit learning.

EPA has launched a new "one-stop" shopping Healthy School Environments Web
Portal to help schools address environmental health issues and improve their
                    school facilities.
