 Pollution  Prevention  Information  Clearinghouse

 The  Pollution Prevention  Information clearinghouse (PPIC)  is dedicated to
 reducing or eliminating industrial pollutants through technology transfer,
•education, and public awareness, 'it is operated by the U,s:  EPA's Office of
 Pollution Prevention and  Toxics..The Clearinghouse is a free,  non-regulatory
 service of the U.S.  EPA,  and provides the following services:  telephone
 reference and referral, document distribution'for selected EPA documents,' and
 a special collection available .for'interlibrary loan.         .              •• .

 Reference and Referral Service and Document  Distribution
 The  .PPIC Reference and Referral Services are available to answer/refer
 questions'ori pollution prevention'and to take orders for'documents. The
 Clearinghouse disseminates selected EPA documents and fadt sheets on pollution
 prevention free of charge.  For a current distribution list call, fax, or mail
 a request to the PPIC (see'below) . .     . •                 .          •       '. ' '

 PPIC  Special  Collection     '                                  .
 The  PPIC collection.is•located within the U.S. EPA OPPT Library. It is
 comprised of:' EPA publications, other Federal and State government
 publications, pollution prevention manuals,  training materials, 'conference
 proceedings, case studies,  journals) newsletters, ^and videos. Holdings in this
 'collection may be accessed through EPA's online library system (OLS). You can

 Public Access "
 The public is welcome to  use  the  PPIC resources and can collect material,.free
 of charge, at the OPPT Library. The Library is located in room NEB606 of the  ,

Environmental  Information  System

Enviro$ense is a free, public,  integrated environmental information system. It
is designed to: Assist users in finding and implementing common sense
solutions, such as pollution prevention, to environmental problems. Facilitate
the sharing of technology,- procedures, and experience across federal agencies,
other governmental organizations,  manufacturers,  suppliers, researchers, and
others. Enviro$ense .encourages the•development and demonstration of pollution
prevention technologies suitable for  export. The database also helps federal
agencies attain compliance with the Right-to-Know provisions of Executive
Order 1285S.   '       '                            ,            '

Accessing Enviro$ense

You can access Enviro$ense if you have a personal computer, a modem,
communications software and a telephone line. Enviro$ense  is accessible both
by modem and via the  World Wide Web on the Internet
