                                  INTRODUCTION

Economic Data on Pollution Prevention Projects

This document provides financial information on the costs and benefits of over 200 pollution
prevention projects that have been undertaken by a variety of U.S. companies. It is meant to
be a starting point for those seeking information on savings associated with specific industry
sectors' pollution prevention activities. The table of contents lists the general industry
categories. A detailed SIC code reference list has been included to provide further information
 on specific SIC codes.

This spreadsheet can be cross referenced with the EPA document "Abstracts of Pollution
Prevention Case Study Sources" (EPA742-B-94-001), which highlights the sources of the case
studies listed in this document, and provides details on how to obtain them. To cross reference
the two documents, find the title listed in the "case study source" section of this document.
Next, find the same title in the alphabetical table of contents in the "Abstracts.." document.

The data on each case study is spread out over four pages. Look for the case study number on
the far left of the spreadsheet and follow this number on the next three pages.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, welcomes suggestions on improvements to this
document. Please send written comments to:
