                  ICR Laboratory Quality Control (QC) Database System
                                       Release 1.1

 The attached diskettes contain the Release 1.1 update to the ICR Laboratory QC Database
 System.  Release 1.1 is an incremental update to the application.  It enhances Release 1.0 but
 does not replace it.

 NOTES

 The following describes changes made to the ICR Laboratory QC Database System subsequent
 to delivery of Release 1.0 of the application that are incorporated in Release 1.1.  Unless
 otherwise specified, the changes made to the application should have no effect on data
 previously recorded in the application.

 Sample Analytical Results

 The following changes and corrections have been made to the Sample Analytical Results data
 entry portion of the ICR Laboratory QC Database System:

 •     The Internal Standard for samples analyzed under Method 551.1 for analyte groups
       Chloral Hydrate and Trihalomethane/Chloral Hydrate is no longer required in Release
       1.1.

 •     When rejecting a Cryptosporidium results, Release 1.0 required the user to enter a
       numerical result. This was inconsistent with other analytes in the application. This has
       been corrected in Release 1.1.

 •     When comments were added for Giardia and Cryptosporidium in Release 1.0, the
       comments were not being properly being copied to the diskette sent to EPA.  This has
       been corrected in Release 1.1.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Release 1.1 must be installed in the same directory as Release 1.0.  Install Release 1.1
according to the following instructions:

•      Start Windows.

•      Insert the diskette labeled  "ICR Laboratory Quality Control (QC) System Release 1.1,
       Disk 1 of 2" into a floppy disk drive on your PC.

•      Choose Run from the File menu hi Program Manager.

 •     Type a:setup in the Run dialog box. (Type b:setup if your diskette is in the B:\drive.)

 •     Press Enter or choose OK on the dialog box with your mouse.

 •     Follow the setup instructions that appear on the screen.

 READ ME FILE

 Additional text has been added to the "Read Me"  file for the application.  When Release 1.1 is

 opened for the first time, a window is displayed containing a button that allows the user to
 view the Read Me file.
