IT'S YOUR CHOICE
You have a vision. A vision of clean, safe water at a
price your citizens can afford.
But you have a problem. Your town's wastewater
system's not meeting its Clean Water Act permit. You
know compliance won't come cheap. You need to build
a new systerrror upgrade the one you have. Wastewater
technology seems confusing. You don't know where to
turn.
fake heartnYourvision CAN become reality. And the
choices you make about financing, people, and
especially technology can make it happen.

You want to set your community the best
wastewater system for the lowest cost. Your town
has fewer than ,10,000 people. Your first worry:
money. How do ^gu get enough to build and oper-
ate the system?:f|eep in mind that, in general, the

U.S. EPA Small-community Outreach
Program. Your first information source is your
State. Check to see if it has a small-community
program. If not, EPA's outreach program can
help you. It points to information that can help
you decide on financing, technology, and peo-
ple. It can also direct you to organizations that
may give you technical assistance. Check with
your U.S. EPA regional office small-community
outreach coordinator or the EPA National Small
Flows Clearinghouse.
This foldout summarizes the 73-page EPA hand-
book It's Your Choice. This handy booklet con-
tains a wealth of practical information on
wastewater financing and technology for small
communities. You can order it from the U.S. EPA
Small Flows Clearinghouse. Use the form at left
