WAVE. Your organization can play one of two roles in WAVE—
Partner or Supporter. Partners include hotels, schools, colleges and
universities, businesses, and other commercial and institutional water users.
Partners demonstrate environmental leadership by surveying their facilities and
installing water efficiency technologies wherever profitable, and designing new
buildings to be water efficient. Supporters share the same responsibilities as
Partners, but also promote and educate others about available water efficiency
technologies. WAVE Supporters represent a variety of resource-conscious com-
mercial and governmental entities such as water service companies, equipment
manufacturers and suppliers, water or wastewater utilities, energy utilities, state
governments, municipalities, and consulting and engineering firms.

reserving high-cruality drinking water resources, preserving wetlands
and other wildlife habitats, reducing wastewater, saving energy,
reducing water and air pollution, all the while saving money: the
environmental and economic benefits of water efficiency are plain to
see! In addition to the financial benefits, organizations with established water-
efficiency programs will know they are. making a difference in protecting and
preserving our environment and vital water resources, and so will their cus- •
tomers. So join the many other organizations that have already made the com-
mitment to preserve tomorrow's water resources today—join WAVE.

To join WAVE, members complete a simple one-page agreement in which they
commit to the membership objectives listed for their appropriate role. Mem-
bers report their progress toward these objectives to EPA annually.

For additional information on WAVE and the benefits of membership callthe
WAVE Program at 202 260-7288. You also can write to the WAVE Program at

water efficiency and use 24 percent less water than the benchmark for their
older inns. Their overall program has saved several million dollars since
inception. . 1
