S. Environmental Protection Agency Region V Air Management Division Air Programs Branch Chicago, Illinois 60604 EPA Project Officer: Barry A. Perlmutter June, 1982 ------- DISTRIBUTION AND DISCLAIMER STATEMENT This air pollution report is issued by Region V, of the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) to report revised air quality designations to a limited number of interested readers. Copies are available free of charge to grantees, selected con- tractors, and Federal employees, in limited quantities and for a nominal cost, from the National Technical Information Service, 5285 Port Royal Road, Springfield, Virginia, 22161. The report was furnished to USEPA-Region V by Envirodyne Engineers, 12161 Lackland Road, St. Louis, Missouri, 63141, in fulfillment of Contract Number 68-02-3178, Work Assignment 12. This report has been reviewed by USEPA-Region V and approved for publication. The contents are reproduced herein, as received from Envirodyne Engineers. Publication No. EPA 905/9-82-005 11 ------- ABSTRACT This document illustrates the revised attainment/nonattainment designations for the five criteria pollutants (sulfur dioxide, total suspended particulates, ozone, carbon monoxide, and nitrogen dioxide) for the States comprising USEPA-Region V (Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin). The infor- mation contained in this report updates the original report "Profile of Air Quality in Region V", EPA 905/9-80-004, of June, 1980 . The air quality designations detailed in these maps are based upon information available as of March 15, 1982. These attainment status designations are pursuant to the requirements of Section 107 of the Clean Air Act, as amended in 1977, and are codified in Subpart C of Part 81 of Chapter 1, Title 40, Code of Federal Regulations. For additional information regarding current air quality data, legal and procedural requirements for attainment/nonattainment areas, etc., the appropriate Regional, State or local environmental agencies should be contacted. 111 ------- TABLE OF CONTENTS Page No. Title Page .i Distribution and Disclaimer Statement ii Abstract ; H1 Table of Contents 1Y List of Tables va.
