United States Environmental Protection Agency Information Resources Management (PM-211A) INTERNATIONAL UPDATE EPA/220/N-92-011 Jsloverabar 1992 ,_ t: UPDATE OF EPA'S INFORMATION SYSTEMS INVENTORY The information Systems Inventory (ISi) at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is an automated catalog that describes over 500 of the Agency's manual and electronic data systems, ranging from models to administrative tracking systems. The definitive source of summary information about EPA systems, this menu-driven, PC-based program Is updated and maintained by the Information Management and Services Division within EPA's Office of Information Resources Management (OIRM). A printed version is also available. Mandated by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1980, the ISI can: • Increase awareness of EPA information systems by providing a comprehensive inventory • Reduce duplicative information system development and data collection efforts «Improve EPA's oversight and coordination of information systems in general • Enhance EPA's ability to respond to inquiries concerning Agency information systems. Information for the ISI Is collected through major mailing and telephone interview efforts to ail previously registered system contacts, senior IRM Officials, and other selected Agency staff. if readers know of newly-developed systems, or have a particular system that they would like to promote, the ISI is an excellent way to communicate with a very wide audience. The update is expected to be completed by the end of the calendar year. If you wish to contribute information to the Inventory, blank forms are available from the information Management and Services Division (Maiteode: PM-2T1D, Phone: 202-260-5914). Requests for copies of the updated ISI also can be directed to the same address. —JeffSabol Upcoming Conference Global Warming - A Call for International Coordi- nation. April 5-8,1993, Chicago, IL.
