PROJECT SUMMARY
In conjunction with the thermal survey of Rock River, Illinois, flown on June 5,
1978, photographic imagery was also acquired as requested by the Surveillance and
Analysis Division of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Region V. The
color photography was flown at a scale of 1:6,000. Approximately 72 photos from four-
teen flight lines correspond in coverage to the sixteen thermal image frames that are
presented under separate cover. The photos are bound by flight line beginning with
line 14 in northern Rockford through line 1 at a point seven miles south of the village
of Oregon, a distance of approximately 25 miles. Annotations on the photos locate
tributaries, adjacent towns and sites of interest including the Rockford sewage dis-
posal plant and the new power plant construction site near Byron.
