After this date, reservations will be on a space available basis and the conference rate may no longer be available. ------- nal Field Trip An optional overnight field trip to the Sulphur Bank Mercury Mine Superfund Site (SBMM) is scheduled to start after the last session on Thursday, November 30th and return to the Cathedral Hill Hotel by 4:00 pm Friday, December 1, 2000. SBMM is a historic, unreclaimed Hg mine located 100 miles north of San Francisco on the eastern shore of Clear Lake, one of the largest and oldest natural fresh water lakes in California. SBMM involves many issues related to conference topics including: • Historic Hg mining operations • Characterization and reclamation of abandoned Hg mines si Fate and transport of Hg in lacustrine systems and sediments s BiO'Uptake and bioaccumulation of methylmercury • Hg deposition from geothermal systems a Hg flux from air emissions • TMDL development Advance payment will be required to confirm participation.
