Errata Sheet For Toxic Chemical Release
Inventory Reporting Form R and Instructions
Revised / 994 Version
Please note the following errors in the 1994 TRI Reporting Instructions and Automated Form R
(APR) software.
APR Software
The APR software for the 1994 reporting year has incorrect CAS numbers for two chemicals.
Paraldehyde
Chlorodifluoromethane
Incorrect CAS number
Correct CAS number
Incorrect CAS number
Correct CAS number
123-67-7
123-63-7
74-45-6
75-45-6
The software will force the use of the incorrect CAS number. Software users can submit Form R
reports for these chemicals using the incorrect CAS numbers, and EPA will change them to the
correct CAS numbers when processing their submissions. The CAS numbers are correctly listed
in Table II- Toxic Chemical List in the hardcopy version of the 1994 TRI Reporting Instructions.
First Page- "Important Information for Reporting Year 1994"
On the first page of the 1994 TRI Reporting Instructions under "Important Information for
Reporting Year 1994" in the next-to-last paragraph (right column), the number of chemicals
reportable for the first time this year is stated incorrectly as 30. There were actually 32 new
chemical listings added for reporting year 1994. The 32 include two new chemical category
listings.
Two other changes to the chemical list that are not noted on this page are: 1) barium sulfate has
been delisted from the category of barium compounds, and 2) the definition of the glycol ethers
category has been modified. Since these changes were finalized before July 1, 1994, they are
effective for the 1993 reporting year and beyond.

Table II- Alphabetical Chemical List
Page H-3. 1,4-Dichloro-2-butene with CAS # 764-41-0 is out of order. It incorrectly appears
after 2,4-D and should appear after Dichlorobromomethane.
Page H-3. l,l-Dichloro-l,l,2-trifluoroethane (HCFC-123b) (CAS 812-04-4) is spelled incor-
rectly. It should be l,l-Dichloro-l,2,2-trifluoroethane. It has a different spelling error on the
CAS number list (see below).
Page H-3. 1,1-Dichloro-l-fluoroethane (HCFC-141b) with CAS # 1717-00-6 is out of order. It
incorrectly appears after Dichlorobromomethane and should appear after 1,2-
Dichloroethylene.
Page H-3. Dichlorotrifluoroethane with CAS # 34077-87-7 is out of order. It incorrectly ap-
pears before Dichlorodifluoromethane and should appear before Dichloro-l,l,2-trifluoroethane.
Page H-3. Dichlorotetrafluoroethane with CAS # 76-14-2 is out of order. It incorrectly appears
after Dichloro-1,1,2-trifluoroethane and should appear after 1,3-Dichloropropylene.
PageH-4. Fromic acid (CAS # 64-18-6) is spelled incorrectly. It should be Formic acid. It is
spelled correctly on the CAS number list.
Table II-CAS Number List
Page n-9. CAS # 111-91-1 for Bis(2-chloroethoxy)methane is out of order. It incorrectly
appears just before CAS # 111-42-2 and should appear after CAS # 111-44-4.
Page H-10. For CAS # 354-23-4, the chemical name l,2-Dichloro-l,l,2-trifluoroethante is
misspelled. It should be l,2-Dichloro-l,l,2-trifluoroethane. It is spelled correctly on the
alphabetical list.
Page n-10. For CAS # 812-04-4 for 1,1 -Dichloro-1,2,2-trifluoroethane, the name (HCFC)
should be (HCFC 123b). On the alphabetical list, there is a different spelling error (see above).
Page H-10. For CAS # 1717-00-6 for 1,1-Dichloro-l-fluoroethane, the name (HCFC-1416)
should be (HCFC-141b). It is spelled correctly on the alphabetical list.
Page H-11. CAS # 2390-58-50 for Pronamide should be 23950-58-5.
Appendix I- EPA's TRI Automated Form R (APR)
Software for Reporting Year 1994
Page 1-2. In the third paragraph of the "Dear Form R Submitter" section, RY95 should be RY94.
Page 1-4. In the outlined box "To Whom It May Concern," the CAS number or category code for
lead compounds is incorrectly listed as NA20. It should be N420. Also, zinc is listed without its
qualifier. The correct chemical name should be zinc (fume or dust).

IMPORTANT NOTICE
Dear Form R Submitter:
Due to production problems, the mailing label attached to your 1994 TRI Reporting
Form R and Instructions document cannot be peeled off and applied to the Form R, as
designed. Please peel-off the mailing label attached to this notice and apply it to the space
marked "PUT LABEL HERE" on page 1 of your Form R submission. This label contains
