Help children breathe easier
Don't smoke and don't let others smoke in your home or car
Keep your home as clean as possible. Dust, mold, certain household
pests, secondhand smoke, and pet
dander can trigger asthma attacks and allergies.
Limit outdoor activity when air pollution is bad such as on ozone alert days
Protect-children from lead poisoning
Wash children's hands before they eat and wash bottles, pacifiers, and
toys often
Wash floors and window sills to protect kids from dust and peeling paint '
contaminated with leadespecially in older-homes
Run the cold water for 30 seconds to flush lead from pipes
Get kids, tested for leadcheck with your doctor
Test your home for lead paint hazards if'it was built before 1978
Protect, children from carbon monoxide (CO)
poisoning
Have fuel-burning appliances, furnace flues and chimneys checked once a year

de asma y alergias.
Evite las actividades al aire libre cuando haya mucha contamination en el aire, comb
cuando haya anuncios de dlas de alerta por los altos niveles de ozono.
Proteja a los ninos del envenenamiento eon plomo
Lave las manos^de los ninos antes de corner y lave con frecuencia los biberones
chupones y juguetes.
Lave pisos y marcos de ventanas para.proteger a los ninos del polvo y pintura
descascarada contaminada con plomo, especialmehte en viviendas viejas.
Deje abierto el chorro de la Have del agua frla por 30 segundos antes de usarla para
dejar salir el agua contaminada con plomo de las tuberfas.
Haga examinar a sus ninos para saber si tienen plomo en la sangre. Hable con su
medico sobre la prueba necesaria.
Realice una prueba en su vivienda, si fue construida antes de 1978, para saber si
existen peligros.por pintura con plomp.
