Recognizing the growing interest in
environmental issues and careers,
the Environmental Protection Agency
(EPA) has established the National
Network for Environmental
Management Studies (NNEMS)
Program. NNEMS is a comprehensive
fellowship program managed by the
Environmental Education Division of
EPA.
PURPOSE

The purpose of the NNEMS Program is to:
• Provide practical work experience for undergraduate
and graduate students who are interested in
   environmental issues
• Create a catalyst for increased public awareness of
   and involvement in environmental issues
• Encourage qualified individuals to pursue careers in
   environmental protection fields

NNEMS offers a range of fellowship activities designed
to help students refine their professional skills and

research. These projects are sulliciently narrow in scope
to allow the student to complete the research by \vorking
full time during the summer or part time during the
school year. We recommend that the student perform
the research at the sponsoring facility, although other
arrangements may be made.

EPA headquarters and regional program office identifies
and sponsois general fellowship positions available
within that office. General fellowship opportunities are
a\ailahle fur -,t!mmer. fall, or spring semester.
