Technology Transfer
National
Conference:
Operation and
Maintenance of
POTWs
January 1214. 198?

Purpose
Recently, the issue of non-compliance by a large number
of the Publicly Owned Treatment Works (POTWs) in this
country has received much attention. To address this
issue, the US Environmental Protection Agency's Office
of Research and Development has conducted and com-
pleted several significant projects through its Municipal
Environmental Research Laboratory (MERL) related to
design and performance of POTWs. The primary purpose
of this National Conference on Operation and Mainte-
nance of POTWs is to present, based on results obtained
from these projects, definitive solutions to specific
problems within POTWs.
Designers will find recently demonstrated concepts
related to POTW design, design deficiencies, operation,
and improved performance/reliability useful in current as
well as future treatment plant designs. The emphasis on
low-cost analyses and solutions to common performance
problems should also be of interest to POTW owners and
operators.
Registration and Hotel Information
There is no registration fee. However, attendance will be
limited and early registration is encouraged. To register,
fill out the attached form and forward to:
