These seminars are sponsored by the U.S. EPA,
Center for Environmental Research Information,
Cincinnati, Ohio.

Background and Purpose
During the last several years increasing attention has
been focused on the solid waste management prob-
lems facing the nation. In particular, concerns have
been raised over solid waste landfills and the risks that
these facilities pose to the environment.
In October 1991 EPA published final regulations
(Resource Conservation and Recovery Act—
Subtitle D) that address the design, operation, and
closure of municipal solid waste landfills. This seminar
series will provide technical guidance useful to those
affected by these recently published regulations.
These seminars are designed to assist owners and
operators of municipal solid waste landfills in address-
ing these new requirements. In addition, the technical
and engineering information presented at these
seminars will be very useful to federal and state
regulators and environmental consultants.
Registration
There is no registration fee for the seminar. Since
registration will be limited to 250 attendees, the
