PURPOSE
SEMINAR LOCATIONS AND DATES
Tins seminar will present the latest information on EPA's
Innovative and Alternative Technology Program, Initiated
October 1, 1 978 and continuing for three years, the pro-
gram provides for increases in Federal construction
grants, from 75;'n to 85%, for municipal facilities which
qualify as applications of innovative or alternative waste-
water treatment technology
The seminar is intended for consulting engineers, it will
emphasize the regulations, policies, and procedures
with which they must he familiar in order to assist their
municipal clients in complying with and taking advantage
of the innovative and alternative technology provisions of
Ihe Clean Water Act of 1977
Sub|ect areas to he covered include legislation ' regula-
tions, and guidelines use of EPA's Innovative and Alterna-
tive Techtni/oyYAsst'Ssn.fini Manual, tippl/canon prepara-
tion, screening rind review procedures, cost and energy
analyses, and pi,in! component eligibility Alternative
technologies themselves will be reviewed, hut in less
detail than in FPA's recently completed seminars on Land
Treatment of Municipal Wastewater Effluents and EPA's
ongoing series on Wastewater Treatment Facilities for
Small Communities

one of the ten seminars We recommend, however, that
you choose the seminar to be given in the EPA region in
which your firm is most active since regional and state

and panel discussion Because attendance at each
seminar is limited to 200 registrants, we request that you
