This workshop has been designed with input from State and
Regional representatives to address specific Regional, State,
and Local program needs for use and application of EPA's
Drinking Water Health Advisories and regulations. I highly
encourage all persons dealing with risk assessment and
management of drinking water contamination problems to
attend this comprehensive workshop in their designated
regional location.
k
Michael B. Cook, Director
Office of Drinking Water
Background and Purpose
This workshop series to be held in Tallahassee, FL; Chicago;
Charleston, WV; and Denver will present information on the
health effects, analytical methods, and treatment technologies
available for three major classes of drinking water con-
taminants: inorganics, solvents, and pesticides. In addition, the
workshops will describe the philosophy and methodology of the
Office of Drinking Water's Health Advisories and provide op-
portunities, through risk assessment and risk management case
studies, to integrate the Advisories with the Agency's initiatives
for regulation development.
These workshops are designed to benefit County, State and
Federal health, drinking water, CERCLA, and RCRA regulatory
staff and facility managers as well as their consultants, who res-
pond to drinking water contamination problems and are involv-
ed in risk assessments, risk communication, or remedial
actions.
Registration Information
There is no registration fee required for attending these
workshops. Since registration will be limited to the space
available, the attached registration card should be completed
and mailed as soon as possible. All persons wishing to par-
ticipate in coffee breaks must enclose a check for $12 with their
registration card to cover the optional social fee for the three-
day workshop. A letter confirming your pre-registration at the
workshop of your choice will be sent to you.
Note: Participants in the Tallahassee workshop will note that
registration will begin at 11:00 a .m. and that the first day's agen-
da will continue into the evening. To accomodate the tight
schedule on the first day, the Florida State Conference Center

who wish to participate. This fee must accompany the registra-
tion card for those who pre-register for the workshop and who
