$236 MILLION FUNDED
IN FEBRUARY
45 STATES AND PUERTO
RIOO AWARDED STATE
MANAGEMENT ASSISTANCE
GRANTS
19 STATES/TERRITORIES
HAVE WOMP GRANTS
14 STATES AND D.C.
RECEIVED AWARDS
OVER $50 MILLION

18 STATES/TERRITORIES
HAVE ADMINISTRATIVELY
CONSOLIDATED AWARDS
EPA approved 255 grants totaling $236.4 million in February.
Total grant dollars awarded through February of FY 83 increased
$392.8 million when compared to the same period of FY 82.   ($746.6
million compared to $353.8 million).   (p. 6.)

Since April 1980, EPA awarded State Management Assistance grants
totaling $331 million to 45 states and one territory  (Puerto Rico).
These grants provide funds for states to employ staff to
administer segments of the WWT Construction Grants program
delegated to them by EPA.  (p. 18.)

Since October 1981, EPA awarded 19 states and/or territories
$5.0 million for Water Quality Management Planning in accordance
with Section 205(j) of the Clean Water Act.   (p. 20.)

EPA awarded 34 recipients in 14 states and the District of
Columbia Step III awards with a cumulative total over $50
million,  (p. 19.)

EPA awarded 18 states/territories administratively consolidated
grant awards.  Air pollution awards totaled 39% of the total
$23.2 million,  (p, 25.)
