$1.2 BILLION FUNDED
IN SEPTEMBER
49 STATES AND PUERTO
RICO AWARDED STATE
MANAGEMENT ASSISTANCE
GRANTS
51 STATES/TERRITORIES
HAVE WQMP GRANTS
EPA AWARDED 44 STATES
AND PUERTO RICO RCRA/
SUPERFUND GRANTS
EPA approved 913 grants totaling $1.2
billion in September. Total grant
dollars awarded during FY 83 increased
$1.3 billion when compared to FY 82.
($3.8 billion compared to $2.5 billion),
(p. 7.)
Since April 1980, EPA awarded State
Management Assistance grants totaling
$426 million to 49 states and one
territory (Puerto Rico). These grants
provide funds for states to employ
statf to administer segments of the WWT
Construction Grants program delegated
to them by EPA. (p. 17.)
Since October 1981, EPA awarded 51
states and/or Territories $32.1 million
for Water Quality Management Planning
in accordance with Section 205 (j) of
the Clean Water Act. (p. 19.)
Since June 1983, EPA awarded 44 states
and Puerto Rico Superfund awards for
State Inventory programs as authorized
under Sec. 3012 of the Resource Conser-
vation and Recovery Act. (p. 23.)
