          Grant Highlights
$126 MILLION FUNDED
IN NOVEMBER
49 STATES AND PUERTO
RICO AWARDED STATE
MANAGEMENT ASSISTANCE
GRANTS
EPA approved 169 grants totaling $125.8 million in
November.  Total grant dollars awarded during November 1983
increased £44.4 million when compared to November 1982.
(p. 6.)

Since April 1980, EPA awarded State Management Assistance
grants totaling $426 million to 49 states and one
territory (Puerto Rico).  These grants provide funds for
states to employ staff to administer segments of the WWT
Construction Grants program delegated to them by EPA.

51 STATES/TERRITORIES
HAVE WQMP GRANTS
Since October 1981, EPA awarded 51 states and/or territories
$32.1 -million for Water Ouality Management Planning in
accordance with Section 205(j) of the n_ean Water Act. (p. 19.)
48 STATES/TERRITORIES
AWARDED RCRA/SUPERFUND
AWARDS
Since June 1983, EPA awarded 47 states and puerto Rico
Supe_Jund awards for State Inventory programs as
authorized under Section 3012 of the Resource Conser-
vation and Recovery Act. (p.23.)
