X5ROUPS REGION II , U. S. ENVIIMN MENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY U.S. EPA REGION II LIBRARY PROTECTION AGENCY 10037421 ------- Foreword This is a directory of environmental organizations in New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. Our aim is to help people and groups find others with similar interests. There are many kinds of environmental groups. We have not attempted to segregate them by type but merely to arrange them by state and give their purpose and a synopsis of their ongoing programs. Many groups were not aware of our survey for this directory and will not find their organization listed. To these people, our apologies and the assurance that our next revision will be better. The organizations surveyed provided us with a brief statement of their function, the name of the individual who serves as the point of contact and the approximate number of their members. We have also included a listing of city and state environmental agencies and the names of persons serving as points of contact for the public. Please send names of organizations to be included in the next revision as well as your comments and suggestions, to: U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Division of Public Affairs Attn: Maria E.
