CURRENT FEDERAL INDOOR
AIR QUALITY ACTIVITIES
Prepared with the cooperation of the Interagency
Committee on Indoor Air Quality (CIAQ)
Compiled by:
Office Of Program Development
Office of Air and Radiation
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
March 1988
-------
ABOUT THIS PUBLICATION
Title IV of the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act (SARA) of 1986 requires EPA to establish a committee
comprised of the Federal agencies concerned with various aspects of indoor air quality (IAQ) and to coordinate Federal IAQ
activities. The Interagency Committee on Indoor Air Quality (CIAQ) functions as the primary Federal coordination mechanism.
Through the CIAQ, each Federal agency was asked to supply a chart of their current and ongoing research, policy, and
program development activities in the field of indoor air quality. The primary purpose of compiling this information is to provide
individuals in the Federal community with a useful tool for coordinating their activities at the project level. Due to Inevitable
changes in the status of many of these activities, this chart will be updated periodically.
For each agency, the major indoor air activities are identified, along with a brief description of the purpose of the activity, its
current status and/or projected completion date, the agency/office responsible, and a contact name and phone number.
The information for this chart was compiled by, and corrections should be addressed to, the Indoor Air Staff, Office of Air and
Radiation (ANR-445), U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, 401 M Street, S.W., Washington, D.C. 20460.
PLEASE NOTE:
THE INFORMATION CONTAINED IN THIS PUBLICATION WAS CURRENT AS OF FEBRUARY 1988. HOWEVER, ALL
INFORMATION SHOULD BE CONSIDERED SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE. FOR THE MOST CURRENT
INFORMATION, INDIVIDUALS LISTED FOR EACH PROJECT SHOULD BE CONTACTED DIRECTLY.
