SUBJECT: Waiver of Concurrence on De Minimis Generator
Settlements

Region I
On June 17, 1988, we modified our concurrence role on the
CERCLA Judicial Settlement Delegations, including de minimis
settlements. After a Region has submitted and we approve a de
minimis generator settlement, the headquarters role becomes one
of consultation (Delegations memorandum Para. C.3). The Region I
K. J. Quinn and Cannons settlements were approved. .Accordingly,
Region I has delegated authority to transmit de minimis
settlements under §122(g)(1)(A) to the Department of Justice with
headquarters consultation.
