INTRODUCTION
This Guide was developed to assist EPA staff in identifying and locating journals
currently in the EPA Headquarters Library. The journal collection encompasses
a wide range of subject areas on various environmental, scientific, and
management topics.
Journal titles are arranged under subject categories such as acid rain,
conservation, environmental health, law, pollution prevention, and water. A list
of subject categories is on pages ii and iii for quick review. A Title Index of all
journals can be found at the end of this Guide.
This Guide contains journal titles from the Library's general collection and those
titles in the International Collection (International). Journals in the International
collection are identified with collection location in parentheses in the Title Index.
For more information on journal holdings, please refer to the EPA Journal
Holdings Report which provides detailed information on the EPA Library
network's journal holdings. The Report is an alphabetic listing of titles held by all
the libraries in the EPA Library Network and provides information such as total
holdings, frequency, and journal publisher. The Report is available at the
reference desk in the EPA Headquarters Library. Articles found in journals not
available in the EPA Headquarters Library may be requested through
Interlibrary Loan, a special library service that allows libraries to borrow material
from other libraries. You may request an Interlibrary Loan form from the
circulation desk.
