You will need to correct the violation and any
associated environmental damage within 6
months of discovering it. If the correction will take
longer than 90 days, you will need to work with
EPA to develop a schedule. If you can correct the
problem through pollution prevention technolo-
gies, you may be granted an additional period of 6

  You employ 100 or fewer individuals across all your
  facilities and operations.

  The violation did not cause serious harm to public
  health, safety, or the environment.

  The violation does not involve criminal conduct.

  You have not used this policy for violations of simi-
  lar requirements during the past 3 years.

  You have not been subject to two or more enforce-
  ment actions for environmental violations in 5 years.

  The violation was not already discovered by a regu-
  latory agency through inspections, citations, or
  other methods.

  You did not violate a legally required monitoring
  procedure.

  close and correct violations.
  Use this policy to:
  •  Eliminate federal penalties*
  •  Avoid future legal complications and costs
  •  Establish a good record with regulatory agencies
  •  Do the right thing

  The process is easy! Just follow these three steps:
