                                                            ADMINISTRATION
                                                            AND RESOURCES
                                                             MANAGEMENT
  To All EPA Employees:

One of the most effective and exciting aspects of our human resources
management effort in EPA is the degree of personal commitment and
involvement of people at all levels and in all types of jobs across the Agency.
This reflects a dedication to our environmental mission as well as a sincere
interest in helping make EPA a better place to work for all of us.

The Directory lists many of the people who are working toward this goal. For
some, like those of us in OHRM, Personnel, and the Office of Civil Rights, it is
our assigned responsibility. For many more, this work is a voluntary "labor of
love" which they do in addition to their primary jobs.
     i
I am pleased to send you this expanded and updated version of the Human
Resources Directory. We've produced it in a size that complements the EPA
Telephone Directory so that it will be convenient to keep and use. I encourage
you to contact the individuals in this Directory with your ideas, questions, and
comments. I'm confident after working with many of them and seeing them
in action that they will go out of their way to help you in any way they can.
                                    Sincerely,
                                    William M7 Hend
