The U. S. Environmental Protection
Agency Office of Technology Transfer is
presenting a one-day seminar to provide
manufacturers in EPA Region V with up-
to-date information on regulatory policies
and basic technical guidance related to
monitoring of their wastewater.
The seminar will be conducted in two
sessions. The first session, covering the
regulatory program, will discuss the re-
quirements for self - monitoring of dis-
charges as is required under the Federal
Water Pollution Control Act Amendments
of 1972. The intentions of the Federal
Government and the relationship between
the States and the Federal Government will
be explained. Representatives from each
state in EPA Region V will be present to
answer questions relating to their policy.
The second session will be devoted to
providing technical guidance for manufac-
