The Emission Factor and Inventory Group
(EFIG) has a new home page on the World Wide
Web. From our home page you can link to many
web resources on air emissions. Point your web

The CHIEF List Server
If you have an e-mail account, it’s the best way to
stay on top of new activities in EFIG. CHIEF now
has a list server which allows you to receive notices
of new EFIG documents or software updates! This
list server also distributes the quarterly CHIEF
Newsletter. To subscribe to the UJIEF List

The CHIEF Website
The ClearingHouse for Inventories and Emission Factors website is part of the OAQPS
flN Web and a successor to the dial-up CHIEF BBS. On the main page of the CHIEF website
you will find a brief description of its purpose, along with several links to the latest emission
factor and inventory information and products.
General Infonnation : From the blue sidebar you can link directly to general informa-
tion and news about EF 1O, a What’s New page that updates you on recent additions to the
CHIEF web site, the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) page, the CHIEF and Emission
Inventory Public Forums for online public discussion and comment, and a Seaith page that
allows you to search for information on the fl’N Web by keyword.
Documents : From the CHIEF website you can download any section of the Compila-
tion of Air Pollutant Emission Factors (AP-42), the Locating and Estimating Document
series, the National Air Pollutant Emission Trends Report and Emission Inventory Im-
provement Program documents, guidance for emission inventones, and many other teclini-
cal reports and memos.
Software : The link to the Emission Estimation Software page allows you to download
the latest versions of programs such as TANKS, the FIRE database, the Landfill model,
Speciate, WATER8, CHEMDAT8, and others. Additional software and models can be found
on the Inventory Data & Projection page which offers EGAS and MIDAS.

The EFIG Home Page
The home page for EPA ’s Emission Factor and inventory Group is a gateway to air
emissions websites. It provides an intuitive and direct pathway to this information, in addi-
tion to general information about EFIG, links from this page will take you to:
OAQPS Website - The home page for EPA’s Office of Air Quality Planning and Stan-
dards which directs national efforts to meet air quality goals.
CHIEF Website (see below)
Emission Inventory Improvement Program (flIP) - A cooperative effort between EPA,
state/local agencies, and industry for the improvement of emission inventories.
1996 Emission Inventory - The central information source for state and local agencies as
they prepare and submit their 1996 emission inventones.
Unified Air Toxics Website - Vaiious information concerning air toxics, including
regulations, programs, co’itacts, etc.
Office of Mobile Sources - information on air pollution from motor vehicles, construction
equipment, aircraft, and other mobile sources.
TTN Web- OAQPS Technology Transfer Network, home to 19 different web pages
pertaining to air issues.
OAR and AiRLinks - EPA’s Office of Air and Radiation and OAR’s “hottest” web sites.
