& 4 ufts University Research Proposal
3 Jim O’Leary, Special Assistant
Office of Solid Waste (WH—562)
Addressees
Since FY 1984, Congress has appropriated monies (already
$3 million) for Tufts University to establish a research and
policy center for the study of hazardous waste. Recently, Tufts
University submitted to EPA a draft program plan for research,
policy, and education that Marcia Williams has asked us to review
and comment on prior to an October 25th meeting with Tufts. The
plan is 43 pages long and is divided into several activities
that r 1ate directly to your particular responsibilities.
Below is a list of those activities and related pages that
I would like you to review by Friday, October 18th. In your
comments, would you state whether the proposed projects could
assist us with our regulatory development or implementation
efforts and how; whether ORD is performing or proposing something
comparable for us; what priority you would give to the pro ject
(high, medium, or low); and whether you ou H-oz- w ou1d not
recommend initiation of such a project.
