    Usual carrier: water

3. Science Findings:
    Summary science statement:
There are extensive data gaps for Fenamlnosulf. No human toxlcological
hazarda of concern, other than mutagenlcity, have been identified in
studies reviewed by the Agency for the standard. The Agency has no
Information that indicates continued use will result in any unreasonable
adverse effects to man or his environment during the time required
    to develop the data.

    Chemical characteristics:
Fenamlnosulf Is a yellowish-brown, odorless powder. It is soluble
in water (2-3Z at 25"C). The chemical does not present any unusual
    handling hazards.

    Toxlcologlc characteristics:
    Chronic toxicology studies:
      Mutagenlcity: positive results
Fenamlnosulf Is structurally related to the ato dyes that are
      known carcinogens

Major routes of exposure: dermal and inhalation from field uses

-------
Physiological and biocb ica1 behavioral characteristics:
Mechaniu of pesticidal action: appears to inhibit itochondrjal
function
Metaboli and persistence in plants and aniaals: There is no data
on plant and aniaal tabolin or bioaccu.ulation potential.
Envi roiental characteristic.:
Absorption and leaching in basic soil types: appears to degrade
with a half—life of 2 days in soil
Studies are inadequate to reach a final conclusion about the fate
of Penaainosulf in the environnt or the exposure potential of
the ch ical to htans and wildlife
Ecological characteristics:
Hazards to fish and wildlife:
Avian acute oral LD 50 : 13 .g/kg
Avian subacute dietary LC 50 : 250 pps
Fish IC 50 : >60 pp
Aquatic invertebrates LC5C): Scuds 3.7 p ; Stoneflies 24 p
Potential probleas for endangered species: The use patterns do not
present any prob]ea to endangered species.
Tolerance Assess nts:
There are no tolerance, established for Fenaainosulf rssidues in
or on any crop, or aniaal product. When the cbeaical wns first
registered, seed treataents i re considered non—food uses. The
Agency’s current position is that seed treat nts are considered
food uses until data is subaitted shoving no uptake of the
chealcal or its’ degradat... Therefore etabolic studies are
needed to deteraine the residues of concern and if tolerances
be established. If tolerances need to be established
additional data requireaents aay have to be t.
Probleas known to have accurred froa use: (PINS) There have been
21 cases of exposure reported fros aixing, loading, or field
reentry. No exposures have resulted in fatality.
