Announcement
                   January - April 1986
                     The Environmental Protection
                   Agency's Office of Research and
                   Development announces the avail-
ability of printed publications on a
                   wide range of environmental topics.
As a part of EPA's efforts to make
                   available better information for envi-
                   ronmental decision making, we are
                   offering the following publications
                   at no charge.
                     Project Summaries are short
synopses of key findings of project
                   reports. These reports present the
                   results of recently completed re-
                   search, development and engineer-
                   ing work. The summaries convey
the essence of a project in terms
                   comprehensible to the technical
                   community at large. The complete
reports are available only from the
                   National Technical Information
                   Service.
                     The ORD Publications Announce-
ment is published three or four
times a year to provide interested
parties with access to the broad
                   range of currently available docu-
ments produced by the Office of
                   Research and Development. It will
be mailed upon request to individ-
uals who may wish to order this
material. Orders are filled until the
supply of a particular report is
                   exhausted.
The following pages list titles of
                   publications that are available. Proj-
                   ect Summaries are subdivided by
                   subject area. Publications an-
nounced for the first time are

This five (5) volume document (with updated information through 1983) is available only from the Government Printing Office.
The document Consists of the following volumes,
Vol I - Treatability Data
Volumel Supplies data on the specific compoundslisted in theConsolidated PermitApplication Form 2C(NPDES)published May 19, 1980.
It is intended to provide facsimile reference to physical data on the pollutants, their occurrence patterns, and methods of treatment and/or
removal
Vol II - Industrial Descriptions
The objective of Volume II is to characterize the wastewaters discharged on a facility-by-facility basis prior to pretreatment and after
treatment. The pollution control methods used with the treated final effluent pollutants concentrations are also provided.
Vol III - Technologies
Volume Ill presents performance data and related mechanical information for 56 unit operations used in industrial water pollution control.
These operations include 24 sludge treatment and disposal technologies and 32 generic wastewater treatment technologies classified as
preliminary, primary, secondary, or tertiary treatment.
Vol IV - Cost Estimating
Volume lVpresentstotal capital nvestmentand annual operating cost informationfor 78 wastewatertreatmenttechnologies grouped into
the following classifications: wastewater conditioning, primary wastewater treatment, secondary wastewater treatment, tertiary
wastewater treatment, sludge treatment, and disposal.
