Sludge from primary clarifiers is anaerobically digested and injected as a liquid. Waste activated sludge is aerobically digested, then passed through a DAF unit. The thickened sludge is then dewatered on twin belt presses. The solids are land applied. Sludge from the DAF can also be transferred to the anaerobic digester, as was being done on the day of sampling. ------- ST.
