Train today announced the availability of draft program strategy documents describing the goals and priorities of various Agency pollution control and abatement programs. These documents, presently in draft form, are designed to assist Federal, State and local officials in understanding EPA programs; to clarify Agency policy regarding implementation of legislation; and to provide a framework for developing and strengthening Federal- State efforts to solve mutual problems. "EPA wishes to provide sufficient information on the Agency's intent to persons who are affected by any major sponsored legislation, regulation, policy, decision, or pro- gram action," Train said, "and to ensure that those interested persons are given the opportunity to have their views on the subject considered in the Agency's decision-making process." Accordingly, EPA is soliciting public comment on the draft strategy documents, and will consider all such comments before issuing the strategies in final form.
