EPA SOLICITS PUBLIC COMMENT ON PROGRAM STRATEGY DOCUMENTS
Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Russell E.
Train today announced the availability of draft program strategy
documents describing the goals and priorities of various Agency
pollution control and abatement programs. These documents,
presently in draft form, are designed to assist Federal, State
and local officials in understanding EPA programs; to clarify
Agency policy regarding implementation of legislation; and to
provide a framework for developing and strengthening Federal-
State efforts to solve mutual problems.
"EPA wishes to provide sufficient information on the
Agency's intent to persons who are affected by any major
sponsored legislation, regulation, policy, decision, or pro-
gram action," Train said, "and to ensure that those interested
persons are given the opportunity to have their views on the
subject considered in the Agency's decision-making process."
Accordingly, EPA is soliciting public comment on the
draft strategy documents, and will consider all such comments
before issuing the strategies in final form.
