EPA MAKES AVAILABLE ITS COMMENTS ON ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATE-
MENTS FOR MARCH 16 - 31, 1976"
The Environmental Protection Agency today announced that the
list of environmental impact statements upon which the Agency com-
mented during the period from March 16 - 31, 1976 is available to,
the public.
The list, with explanatory information, was published in the
Federal Register of April 21, 1976. Typescript copies of the list
may be obtained from the Public Information Center, Room 2196
(PM-215), EPA, Waterside Mall, 401 M Street, SW., Washington, D.C.
20460.
EPA's comments on environmental impact statements and other
environmentally significant Federal actions are available for
inspection at the Agency's Public Information Reference Unit (PM-213),
EPA, Waterside Mall, 401 M Street, SW., Washington, D.C. 20460.
Copies of the draft and final impact statements referenced may
be obtained from the originating Federal agencies.
The National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 requires Federal
agencies proposing major actions which may significantly affect
the environment to prepare.an environmental impact statement for
review by other Federal agencies and the public. Section 309 of
the Clean Air Act requires EPA to review environmental impact
statements and make public our comments at the completion of such
