also helps make everything comfortable."

CONTROL RISING ENERGY COSTS:
CHOOSE A HOME THAT EARNS
THE ENERGY STAR®
If you're in the market to buy a manufactured home, be
sure to look for one that has earned the ENERGY STAR.
The ENERGY STAR label helps you identify new homes
that are significantly more energy efficient than
standard homes.
With utility bills going up, it's more important than
ever to know the home you're buying is truly energy
efficient. Enjoy lower utility bills and peace of mind
when you purchase an ENERGY STAR qualified
manufactured home. If it's not ENERGY STAR,
you're wasting your energy.
WHAT IS
ENERGY STAR?
ENERGY STAR is the government-backed program that
helps us all save money and protect our environment
with energy-efficient products and practices. Whether
you are looking to replace old appliances, remodel your
home, or buy a new house, ENERGY STAR can help.
More than 40 kinds of products, including lighting,
appliances, televisions, computers, heating and
cooling equipment, and even new homes, can earn
the government's ENERGY STAR label. The ENERGY
STAR label on a new home means that it is significantly
more efficient than a code-built model.
ENERGY STAR QUALIFIED
MANUFACTURED HOMES
The ENERGY STAR label is your assurance that the
home you're buying includes energy-efficient features
such as effective insulation, tight construction and ducts,
high-efficiency windows, and efficient heating and cooling
equipment. Plus, all ENERGY STAR qualified manufactured
homes are inspected by an independent third party to
meet EPA's strict guidelines for energy efficiency.
BENEFITS OF OWNING AN ENERGY STAR
QUALIFIED MANUFACTURED HOME
On the outside, your ENERGY STAR qualified
manufactured home may not look any different from
other homes, but you will feel the difference in your
comfort and see it in your bank account.
• LOWER OWNERSHIP COST
An ENERGY STAR qualified manufactured home uses
substantially less energy for heating, cooling, and
water heating than a standard manufactured home.
Homeowners can expect to save hundreds of dollars
each year on their utility bills.
•MORE COMFORT
Properly installed energy-efficient improvements, such
as increased insulation, tightly sealed ducts, and ENERGY
STAR qualified windows, provide better protection against
heat, cold, drafts, and noise from outside.
• GOOD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
The energy used in your home is most often from the
burning of fossil fuels at power plants, which contributes
to smog, acid rain, and the risks of global warming.
Simply put, the less energy we use in our homes, the
less air pollution we generate. This creates a better
environment for everyone, now and for generations
to come.
