DATE: November 15, 2000

SUBJECT: Additional Detail on Revised Recreational Vehicle Emissions Inventories

FROM: John Mueller, Mechanical Engineer

TO: Docket A-98-01
We have revised our inventory estimates for the categories of vehicles and engines included
in our proposed finding concerning new nonroad spark-ignition engines rated above 19 kilowatts
and new land-based recreational spark-ignition (Large SI) engines.3 This memorandum presents
additional detail for the recreational vehicle inventories, both nationally (Table 1) and in selected
nonattainment areas (Table 2). The details of the modeling for these inventories are documented in
a separate memorandum to docket A-98-01.

        1. We believe that there is snowmobile usage in Connecticut. However, we do not have good snowmobile
allocation data for Connecticut, and have chosen to show no snowmobiles in Connecticut rather than attempt to
estimate Connecticut snowmobile population.
