It identifies products in more than 50 categories that use less energy without sacrificing quality or performance. ENERGY STAR qualified products are an easy, convenient solution to energy and cost concerns. How do programmable thermostats earn the ENERGY STAR? Qualified programmable thermostats are shipped with a default energy-saving program. The thermostat can maintain weekday and weekend programs, each with four or more settings for different times of the day. Qualified programmable thermostats must also be accurate within +/- 2 degrees.
