INTRODUCTION
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will hold a
public meeting on June 25, 2009 at 7 P.M. in the Winslow
Township Municipal Building, 125 South Route 73, Braddock,
New Jersey to discuss the findings of its Remedial
Investigation and to discuss the proposed remedy.

The primary objectives of the proposed response action are to
reduce or eliminate threats and minimize potential health and
environmental impacts from the Site.

REMEDIAL ACTION
EPA's proposed remedy consists of the installation of an air
sparging and soil vapor extraction system for groundwater
contamination near the site, a pump and treat system for
downgradient groundwater contamination, monitored natural
attenuation and institutional controls.

CITE HISTORY
01 1^1 no i \»/r\ i
Beginning in 1974, the Lightman Drum Company located in
Winslow Township, Camden County NJ, operated a industrial
waste and drum reclamation business. As a result of these
activities, there were releases of hazardous chemicals to the
soil and groundwater. On October 22, 1999, EPA added the
Lightman Drum Company Site to the Superfund National
Priorities List.

Investigations conducted under a 2000 EPA Administrative
Order show that the primary contaminants in the soil and
groundwater are volatile organic compounds. The proposed
groundwater remedy is the subject of this public comment
period and public meeting. Most contaminated soils were
removed under a 2007 Removal Order. Some remaining soil
contamination is under investigation and a proposed remedy
for those soils will be announced in the future.
