Following the National Academy of Sciences' National Research Council review, EPA adopted a reference dose for perchlorate of 0.0007 milligram/kilogram-day (mg/kg-day). This guidance applies to EPA's CERCLA program. The effective date of this rulemaking is January 20, 2006. CROSS PROGRAM "National Advisory Committee for Acute Exposure Guideline Levels for Hazardous Substances; Notice of Public Meeting" January 18, 2006 (71 FR 2923) EPA announced that a meeting of the National Advisory Committee for Acute Exposure Guideline Levels for Hazardous Substances (NAC/AEGL Committee) will be held on February 1 through 3, 2006, in Washington, D.C. The NAC/AEGL Committee will address the acute toxicity and the development of acute exposure guideline levels.
