EPA Seeks Comment on Proposed
Protective Tailpipe Standards and
Reduced Sulfur in Gasoline
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing a major
program to significantly reduce emissions from cars, sport utility
vehicles, minivans and pickup trucks. We are also proposing to reduce
sulfur in gasoline to ensure the effectiveness of low emission control
technologies in vehicles and reduce harmful air pollution. EPA is
seeking input from interested parties on these proposed standards.
General Information
Comments will be accepted up to 45 days after the last public hearing.
Comments received by telephone and e-mail will have the same legal
standing as written comments and testimony at public hearings. Com-
ments must include your name, address and affiliation (such as company,
organization or private citizen). All comments are open to the public for
review from the docket.

* June 11 in Atlanta, Georgia
• June 15 in Denver, Colorado
• June 17 in Cleveland, Ohio
