&EPA Winter 1998 EPA-456/N-98-001 CLEAN A i R T ECHNOLOGY CENTER WELCOME TO THE NEW CATC! The old Control Technology Center (CTC) is history and the CATC has taken its place. Although we have a new look and feel (liposuction and a face-lift will do that), we are still here to help you with your air pollution technol- ogy questions. We hope you like the change. Check us out and let us know what you think. HOW DO I ACCESS THE CATC? You can use the Internet World Wide Web, E-mail, FAX, telephone or conventional mail to reach the CATC. See the "Access Information" box in the center of the en- closed CATC brochure. WHAT'S NEW? The new CATC Web site is operational! We are now fully back under the umbrella of the Technology Transfer Network (TTN). You can: - Find out more about us - Leave us a message - Access other CATC sponsored programs like the RACT/BACT/LAER Clearinghouse (RBLC), the U.S.-Mexico Border Information Center on Air Pollution (CICA), or the Small Business Assis- tance Program (SBAP) - Download CATC/CTC products. Yes, you can still access all the old CTC products, but it's a lot easier now to locate the CATC or CTC product you need. Just click on the CATC PRODUCT INFOR- MATION graphic on the CATC Web, then your topic and you are there. Try it out and be sure to set a bookmark. DO YOU WANT TO RECEIVE CATC MAIL? We are discarding the old CTC mail list after this mailing. So, if you want to continue to receive CATC mail you must let us know! Send a FAX, E-mail, or post card, call the CATC Info- Line, or leave a message on the CATC Web. If we don't hear from you, you won't be hearing from us. The new RACT/BACT/LAER Clearinghouse Internet World Wide Web site (RBLC Web), a fully functional and searchable web version of the RBLC BBS, is now on-line! No more BBS toll-calls, Internet Telnet connec- tions, or FTP file downloads. Easy to use drop-down pick lists and familiar user-friendly web controls aid your search for the information you need. Current and histori- cal data on source-specific air pollution prevention and control technology determinations are a few clicks away. Need EPA air emission standards information? The RBLC regulation data base has summaries of all NSPS, NESHAP, and MACT emission standards. To access the RBLC Web, just click on the RBLC graphic on the CATC Home Page and you are there. Take a moment to leave a message to let us know what you think or how we can make it better. 1998 State Small Business Ombudsman(SBO)/Small Business Assistance Program (SBAP) Conference - "Reaching New Heights Through Environmental Assistance" March 30 - April 1, 1998 Scottsdale, Arizona For more information, visit www.epa.gov/ttn/sbap. ------- The U.S.-Mexico Border Information Center on Air Pollution (Centra de Information sobre Contamination De Aire, or CICA) welcomes Rosalina Rodriguez. Rosalina is helping CICA solve its coordination and translation problems. She is an engineer with EPA's Innovative Strategies and Economics Group in Research Triangle Park, NC. The following NEW PRODUCTS are now complete and available on the CATC Web. CATC - Evaluation of Emissions from the Open Burning Household Waste in Barrels; EPA-600/R-97-134a&b (limited hard copies are available) - Air Emissions from Soils Contaminated with Petroleum Fuels and Other Substances; EPA-600/R-97-116 - Emissions from Outdoor Wood Burning Residential Hot Water Furnaces; EPA-600/R-98-117 - Emerging Technologies for the Management and Utilization of Landfill Gas; EPA-600/R-98-021 NOTE: The final Landfill Gas Emission Model (LandGEM) software upgrade and user's manual are due in late March 1998. The paint spray gun cleaning equipment test method and residential wood boiler emissions reports are lost somewhere in the system. We are trying to track them down and will let you know as soon as they are available. CICA - Ambient Air Monitoring Network Plan for Ciudad Acuna and Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico; EPA-456/R-98-001 English) and EPA-456/R-98-002 (Spanish) - Air Emission from Scrap Tire Combustion; EPA-600/R-97-115 (English Version) (This is a very good summary of new data and previous CTC reports on tire burning!) CAN'T FIND THE RBLC DETERMINATION YOU ARE LOOKING FOR? If you think or know that a RACT, BACT or LAER deter- mination was made, or precedent-setting air pollution abatement technology application demonstrated and it is not in the RBLC, please let us know. The RBLC staff will make every reasonable effort to locate the missing information and make it available on the RBLC Web. We only need the name, location, and type of source. We will do the rest. If you know more, we would appreciate receiving whatever information you have. You may want to try filling in as much information as you can on an RBLC data submission form. You can download the form from the RBLC documents section. If you have other information that would help us identify or complete data entry for the source, send or FAX us a copy.
