Proposals due August 23, 2010
HDD is launching a $100 million
Sustainable Communities Regional
Planning Grant Program to create
stronger, more sustainable communities by
connecting housing to jobs, fostering local
innovation and building a clean energy economy.
The Regional Planning grants will be awarded
competitively to multi-jurisdictional and multi-sector
partnerships as well as regional consortia consisting
of state and local governments, metropolitan
planning organizations (MPOs), educational
institutions, non-profit organizations and
philanthropic organizations.

The Annual National Tanks Conference and
Exposition is produced by the New England
Interstate Water Pollution Control Commission, in
conjunction with the D.S. Environmental
Protection Agency's Office of Dnderground
Storage Tanks, the Association of State and
Territorial Solid Waste Management Officials, and
the State of Massachusetts.
The purpose of this event is to provide learning
and networking opportunities for federal, state,
and tribal colleagues in the underground storage
community. The focus is on progress, priorities,
and plans for the pursuit of a common goal-to
find new and better ways to work together to
protect human health and the environment from
tank releases.

Fourth Annual Canadian-US
s Brownfield Summit (CUBS)
October 6-7, 2010 - Buffalo, NY
CUBS is the place where experts will highlight best
practices connecting the dots between waterfront
redevelopment, sediment cleanup and right sizing
cities in the US and Canada. A Mayors' Roundtable
will focus on what is happening in the Great Lakes
region to revive the area and bring sustainable
initiatives into the cities. A presentation about the
Great Lakes Legacy Act / Great Lakes Action Plan
discusses the opportunities and challenges involved
in utilizing available funding.
