\ Brownfields 2013 Cleanup and Revolving Loan Fund Grant Fact Sheet Tulsa, OK EPA Brownfields Program EPA's Brownfields Program empowers states. communities, and other stakeholders to work together to prevent, assess, safely clean up, and sustainably reuse brownfields. A brownfield site is real property, the expansion, redevelopment, or reuse of which may be complicated by the presence or potential presence of a hazardous substance, pollutant, or contaminant. In 2002, the Small Business Liability Relief and Brownfields Revitalization Act was passed to help states and communities around the country cleanup and revitalize brownfields sites. Under this law, EPA provides financial assistance to eligible applicants through four competitive grant programs: assessment grants, revolving loan fund grants, cleanup grants, and job training grants. Additionally, funding support is provided to state and tribal response programs through a separate mechanism. Cleanup Grants $600,000 for hazardous substances EPA has selected the City of Tulsa for three brownfields cleanup grants. Hazardous substances grant funds will be used to clean up Parcels 1, 2, and 3 of the Evans/Fintube site at 150 and 186 North Lansing. Parcels 1 and 2 were formerly occupied by a paper recycling facility and steel company. Parcel 1 is 5.1 acres, and Parcel 2 is 7.5 acres. Parcel 3 is 5.4 acres and was formerly occupied by a metal manufacturing facility and producer of heat exchangers. All three sites are contaminated with PCBs, arsenic, and metals. Revolving Loan Fund Grant $800,000 for hazardous substances EPA has selected the City of Tulsa for a brownfields revolving loan fund grant. The grant will be used to capitalize a revolving loan fund from which the City of Tulsa will provide 10 loans and 10 subgrants to support cleanup activities for sites contaminated with hazardous substances. Grant funds also will be used to market the RLF and support community outreach activities. The city's RLF coalition partners are the Indian Nations Council of Governments and the Tulsa Industrial Authority.
