ENERGY STAR is a voluntary program that promotes comprehensive energy
management by identifying and labeling enhanced performance products that save
money and help protect the environment by saving energy.
The I '.XKRGY Si Mi label is placed on products that meet or exceed energy-
efficiency guidelines set by the US Environmental Protection Agency fEPA); and
tht* US Department of Energy (DQBJ. ENERGY STAR labeled light commercial
HVAC products are designed with enhanced performance to help save money on
utility costs and provide more efficient heating and cooling comfort.
By purchasing ENERGY STAR labeled light commercial HVAC equipment, building
owners and property managers can decrease operating costs while saving their
tenants money and potentially increasing the building resale value.
Value to your clients. By installing Energy STAR labeled light commercial
HVAC products on your buildings, you are providing efficient conditioned
comfort to your tenants. When your tenants are cooled comfortably, they are more
productive and often more satisfied with the building overall.
Save money on cooling bill. ENERGY STAR labeled light commercial HVAC
products have lower operation costs, and often come witli better warranties. This
means less cost to keep the system operating efficiently and effectively.
Finance or lease? By financing or leasing your equipment for a retrofit or
replacement of existing HVAC units, you can conserve capital and increase your
operating profits.
Gain a marketing advantage. An ENERGY STAR labeled light commercial

>135,000 to <250, 000 Btu/h must be >10.8 EER and 11.2 IPLV
Gas Packs — Must meet the appropriate cooling specifications for central AC
based on its size category.
Heat Pumps — Split or single packaged units (65^000 to 250,000 Btu/h)
<65,000 Btu/h must be >12 SEER and 7.6 USEE? (3 phase)
>65,000 to <: 135,000 Btu/h must be >10.1EER (10.4 IPLV) and 3.2 COP
>135,000 to <250, 000 Btu/h must be >9.3 EER,(9.5 IPLV) and 3.1 COP

Educate your customers about the benefits of ENERGY STAR labeled HVAC
products, including the potential savings on their utility bill.
In addition to purchasing,ENERGY STAR labeled I IN'AC; products, also
consider energy-efficient improvements in your buildings' overall duct systems.
Take advantage of potential savings available from incentive programs for
installation of high efficiency equipment.
Submit case studies and articles about your building to highlight the benefits of
energy efficient light commercial HVAC equipment. Your submission may be
added to the ENERGY STAR Web site!
