vvEPA ^ LIB^j Strategic Plan FY 2015-2017 EPA National Library Network Strategic Plan FY 2015-2017 The EPA National Library Network's strategic plan for fiscal years 2015-2017 is now available. This plan builds on the Network's accomplishments under the previous plan and incorporates projects and goals that will strengthen the Network's role in providing access to environmental information. The plan covers initiatives in four key areas: ¦ Library services ¦ Network governance ¦ Electronic and physical collections ¦ Communications, outreach and training The strategic plan responds to well-documented user needs and seeks to strengthen EPA's network of libraries to ensure continued convenient and effective access to environmental information. It reflects significant contributions and input from the EPA National Library Network community, including library staff and Federal Library Managers, as well as many internal stakeholders. Library Services Goals 1. Increase service coordination 2. Enable user access with tools and resources 3. Ensure timely delivery of quality services across all libraries Vision The EPA National Library Network is an essential information partner with EPA staff and the public to support decision making, environmental awareness and protection of human health and the environment. Library Network Governance Goals 1. Develop and cultivate formal mechanisms for management and stakeholder input 2. Evaluate funding processes to ensure sustainability of librar services 3. Increase coordination and participation in Library Network operations Electronic and Physical Collections Goals 1. Increase discovery of and access to materials in library collections 2. Expand electronic access to EPA's environmental information 3. Enable Agency-wide access to electronic resources and research tools 4. Coordinate collection management at the Network level to ensure adequate subject coverage throughout the Agency Mission The EPA National Library Network serves the needs of EPA staff and the public by using the latest information technologies and developing innovative services to acquire, organize and deliver timely access to accurate information.
