Sustainable and Smart Stormwater Solutions for Future Generations of South Florida Located in the South Florida region, FIU-MMC is subject to extreme environmental stressors associated with the effects of climate change and rapid urban development.The EcoFLow project proposes innovative green infrastructure alternatives for FIU that address major sustainability goals outlined in the FIU Master Plan. Together, the various solutions are capable of enhancing water quality, mitigating floods, restoring natural habitats, reducing runoff, maximizing storage capacity, and reusing captured rainwater.
