Sustainable and Smart Stormwater Solutions for
Future Generations of South Florida
Located in the South Florida region, FIU-MMC is subject to extreme
environmental stressors associated with the effects of climate
change and rapid urban development. The EcoFLow project
proposes innovative green infrastructure alternatives for FIU
that address major sustainability goals outlined in the FIU
Master Plan. Together, the various solutions are capable
of enhancing water quality, mitigating floods, restoring
natural habitats, reducing runoff, maximizing storage
capacity, and reusing captured rainwater.
