This fact sheet explains the redevelopment
of the Bunker Hill Superfund site into the
home of the Silver Mountain Resort. The
redevelopment involved the EPA and local
communities to develop and maintain a
coordinated, valley-wide approach to
cleanup and reuse.

Addendum to Supplemental
Funding for Brownfields Revolving
Loan Fund (RLF) Grantees"

EPA clarified a notice from April 30, 2009,
concerning the applicability of the Recovery
Act, Title XVI, §1605 to certain loans and
subgrants (74 FR 19954). These loans and
subgrants would be made with
approximately $40 million in Recovery Act
funding that the Agency will use to
supplement RLF capitalization grants,
previously awarded competitively under
CERCLA §104(k)(3). Specifically, EPA
clarified that if a nongovernmental or tribal
borrower or subgrantee uses RLF
supplemental funds to remediate a public
building or public work, the Buy American
provision of the Recovery Act will apply to
that loan or subgrant. The effective date of
this action is July 2, 2009.

The Agency for Toxic Substances and
Disease Registry (ATSDR) announced the
availability of the draft toxicological profile
of a priority hazardous substance.

EPA announced the identification of
classes of facilities within the hardrock
mining industry for which financial
responsibility requirements will be
developed under CERCLA § 108(b). For the
purposes of the notice, hardrock mining
facilities include those which extract,
beneficiate, or process metals and non-
metallic, non-fuel minerals.
