WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BECOME A SMARTWAY AFFILIATE ?
The Not-for-Profit Organization category of the SmartWay Transport Partnership is for all not-for-
profit organizations and associations commited to promoting greater energy efficiency and air
quality within the freight transport sector. As a SmartWay Affiliate in this category you assist
your members in making better choices for their business and the environment. By encouraging
your members to participate in the SmartWay Transport Partnership, you help them get the
information and tools they need to reduce fuel consumption, save money, and make a positive
impact on the environment.
WHAT BENEFITS DOES MY ORGANIZATION RECEIVE AS A SMARTWAY AFFILIATE?
You are joining a large group of other SmartWay Affiliates, including for-profit technology vendors,
lending institutions and other not-for-profit organizations. The SmartWay brand represents
energy efficiency and environmental protection. Your menbers and the public view you as a source
for conserving fuel, saving money, and improving air quality. You are able to give your members
access to existing tools that will help them achieve ther business goals. And, when you promote
the Partnership to your members, your good works will be recognized by EPA.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO BECOME A SMARTWAY AFFILIATE (NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATION

The following types of companies are eligible to be SmartWay Affiliates:
•	Trade and Professional Associations
•	Membership Organizations
•	Non-Governmental Agencies
•	Fleet Management Organizations
•	Academic Institutions
•	Governmental Agencies
HOW CAN MY ORGANIZATION JOIN?
Becoming a SmartWay Affiliate is easy. Simply:
Sign Affiliate Agreement.
Complete the promotional and educational activities listed on the agreement.
After you join, a representative from SmartWay Transport Partnership will contact you and help
provide you with information about meeting your commitments.
