Maine DEP - Fluorescent Light Bulb Info
Maine DEP is releasing a study that examines the
impact of mercury levels in a home resulting from
breaking a compact fluorescent light (CFL). EPA and the
states strongly encourage the proper disposal and
recycling of CFLs at the end of their useful life. In fact,
state laws in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire
and Vermont prohibit disposal of mercury-containing
bulbs in the trash.
